Twenty-eight years ago today

I was there... Well, not there-there. If I was there, I wouldn't be here. But I was downwind and got covered with ash.

2. Oh wow...

that long ago huh? I had the good fortune of flying over it, the day after it erupted, after attending my mother's second marriage ceremony. It killed me not to have a camera with me, but I'd dropped it in the lavatory of a Greyhound bus (a stupid story which I won't get into :eyes:). The pilot flew pretty close, which few people believe when I tell them the story (because the pilots were instructed *not* to)...oh well, I know it happened that way! :hi:

3. By evening, it was coming down like snow

Classes were canceled and the town ran out of beer in two days. No deliveries coming in either. They let us skip finals if we were concerned about unknown health risks so the gf and I split town.

4. I was 7 months old...

my younger brother was -4 months old. Mom didn't exactly space us out...first I was born, then Mount St. Helen erupted, then he was born. My mom simply sums it up as a bad year.

In other words, the other one wasn't born for another 4 months. It's possible.

We're 11 months apart minus 1 day. Dec 11 to Nov. 10.
