8. Workout playlist
These days at the gym I'm really into techno and techno/rock and stuff like that -- try searching for these songs:

Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor"
Groove Cutter "My Shooter"
Control One "Just A Little Bit"
Ian Carey "Redlight"
Kevin Weg "Dead Radio"

I don't usually go for techno but these are sort of like a wierd crossover between rock and techno/trance.

Most of these I found at this itunes page -- http://www.electricfilebox.com/tracks
:)

6. Y'know, the first dozen times or so I heard 'Ride on Shooting Star'...
I had NO CLUE that they were singing in english. It was that hard to understand. At least until I figured out what they were saying. Once you know what they're saying it's easier.

Oh, and John Williams didn't do the Batman Theme... the one from the 80s and 90s movies and the early 90s cartoon series were by Danny Elfman, and I forgot the name of the guy who did the soundtrack for Batman Begins. :P

5. I've got a whole bunch on my mp3 player.
It's only a 1 gig, so I can't fit too much on there, but it's enough that I can listen to it around campus and when I'm skating and whatnot. It's mostly soundtracks, actually.

Pretty damn esoteric stuff. :P

The soundtrack to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vzN_ARBIso">Alegria, a movie made by Cirque du Soleil
Music from the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbtURG1DF5Q">Cowboy Bebop.
Music from numerous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZEwVoXTTfY">Final Fantasy games
The soundtracks to the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXvMhKnGZxw">Firefly and the spinoff movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=912bBoeTW_4">Serenity. (I love skating to the Serenity soundtrack, because they've got these themes for when they're flying through space that just feel so appropriate for when you're gliding on ice. Seriously, click on the Serenity link there and just close your eyes and listen to the first little bit of it...)
Some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdZn7k5rZLQ">Nightwish and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixxtnrWb17Y">Lacuna Coil.
The soundtrack to the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRswy183Gps">musical episode of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMYyvoezUoM">Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The soundtrack to the queer punk rock musical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YO9FpWX57E">Hedwig and the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mnrwmmhkCI">Angry Inch
(Okay, I'm still listening to the song I linked to from the Firefly soundtrack... goddamn that man outdid himself with that piece. He actually called up Joss Whedon and said, "I'm worried this one might be a little TOO emotional." :P)
The http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SvAf-QbuvQ">Sibelius violin concerto. I've never played the solo, just in the orchestra. But goddamn it's beautiful.
Some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muJaDZA-_Bk">t.A.T.u.
Some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2gzibUvDzw">Rammstein
Some remixes of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr212NvSIZ8">t.A.T.u. and Rammstein. Weird, but it ends up with a rather cool combination of girl band + low growly heavy metal. :)
The made-up band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evL2sPk8eeY">Steel Dragon from the movie Rock Star with Mark Wahlburg.
The http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHO5KWIMZUo">Moulin Rouge soundtrack. (Yeah, I know... crapload o' soundtracks.)
Some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMrZ7lChK-g">Rufus Wainwright
Some of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz6qHBGKQyk">My own stuff (does that make me a narcissist? :P)
And a bunch of random other stuff that isn't categorized.

And for the less esoteric stuff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPQR-OsH0RQ">Nirvana.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNMhPQoEbJE">The soundtrack to the Beatles movie Help!. :)
And some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ADh8Fs3YdU">Queen (and yes, I chose a song that was covered on Moulin Rouge for this link just to be ironic. :P)

7. walking and elliptical tunes
I go through just about all repertoire...I have 45 tunes on my iTunes playlist.

The scherzo from Dukas "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is my favorite elliptical workout tunes. A good ~10 minute workout...a warm up, the scherzo for hardcore aerobic, and a cool down.

Jimi Hendrix "Stone Free" and "Purple Haze"

Black Eyed Peas "Pump It"

Michael Jackson "Billie Jean" a straight 4/4 beat

Earth Wind and Fire "Getaway"

Hall and Oates "Can't Go for That"

12. Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose...
every other day blasting through my headphones as loud as possible, running as hard as I can down fire-access roads through the national forest. I hope to be able to do it at full sprint with only the rests between songs to catch my breath fairly soon. Thankfully it's a short album. Then I walk home.

My hour of aerobics would kill many many people. I'm currently engaged in a skinny fight. -100 lbs by Dec. 31 = $500. It'll also make me damned sexy in that skinny hipster sort of way. Next goal is getting great abs.
