1. You get used to it :)

Also, the better the whiskey, the smoother it is... (that is, the less it burns going down!)

I usually have two glasses of wine , I can't have two glasses of that !

That's how people can justify paying out the yin yang for say well aged bourbon or 12 yo scotch.

4. Sip, don't shoot!

There's your first problem :) Sip whiskey, maybe mix in a little water if it's two strong. Put 3/4" in the bottom of a regular glass, sip for an hour. Repeat once, maybe twice, if you want.
