For a while now I've been wanting to get into making/modifying electric guitars. I like making/modifying stuff, and I'm a musician, so it seemed like the thing to do. Now that I'm getting a decent sized tax return I've started looking for parts and checking prices online. The one part I've been looking for to add a personal touch to anything I make/modify has eluded my grasp so far... until now.

Yes, I've found them.

And they go up to 11.

Unfortunately they only seem to come in those bright colors, no plain black or white. Ah well, c'est la guerre.

1. The Creme color isn't so bad.

Kind of a vintage look to it. But if that's not your bag, how are you with a paintbrush?

3. I'm thinking spray would work better for that. Wouldn't leave any brush marks.

And since I'll probably end up getting some kind of spray apparatus for painting, dyeing and finishing/lacquering the guitar itself... :)

Actually, I might be able to do something interesting like dip it in plasti-dip or something and see how well the plasti-dip molds itself to the numbers. If they can still show through, that'd be something interesting and different.

And I was planning on making at least one instrument that was green, so the see-through green color would be fine for that.

Unfortunately for the guitar I already have, the only color that would really work well is black.

5. Yep, that's probably what I'll shoot for.

It's too bad I didn't do this before I moved though... my old roommate The Animator had a nice little air compressor and airbrush. And he's a damn good artist, so I coulda used his talents to make my guitars look even cooler. :P Unfortunately I didn't get this nice big tax return before I moved, which is why I'm able to think about buying various parts and whatnot.
