Mary Wickes looked like a middle aged to older woman from her 30s to the time of her death in the 1990s, and she had that quirky, busybody voice to go with the looks. She was a great actress and I miss her.

Jamie Lee Curtis fills another role. She is the "new" old lady. The new model on which the Baby Boomers fancy themselves -- a strong, sexy, hip ("hip" as in "cool" -- not as in replacement) old age.

I'm so crazy about Granny and as much as she's always jumping around and running I thought she must be a lot younger than she was acting like, so I looked her up to find out and Irene Ryan WAS really old and died not too long after Beverly Hillbillies stopped filming.
