I just re-subscribed to The Nation and I'm glad I did...
besides being a magazine that has quite a few good articles in it every week, they now allow current subscribers unlimited access to their digital archive that dates back to 1865. When I let my subscription lapse about a year ago, you still had to pay extra for that service.

Not only did I get a great deal on a year subscription (I guess they wanted me to return as a customer), now I have 140 years worth of progressive articles at my fingertips

1. The Nation was the first
liberal/progressive magazine I discovered and began to read regularly. I still have a subscription, and I've added several other magazines.

I know that it's often mocked as "The (indig)nation" but that's part of what I like about it. The writers in The Nation aren't above expressing some outrage when outrage is due.

There are some occasional writers who have made me cringe, but generally I think it's worth reading whether I agree with individual positions or not.

2. As they did a hatchet job on General Clark a few years ago,
I read with care.

3. I don't agree.
I have been sceptical of General Clark. I think a lot of the hype around him was just good public relations.

4. Wrong.
In fact he had little or no pro p.r., what he has gotten was from those of us who learned about him, and met and support him.

Sorry you've thought this way, ThomCat.
