2. My cleaning ladies do it 3 times a week.
Mon-Wed-Fri

They are some amazing women. They get this place looking spotless and are out in under two hours.

27. Do you really have cleaning ladies
3X a week?

I clean houses and I've never seen one, except for some University boarding houses, that needs work 3X a week!

:hi:

29. Yeah.
Though my house really doesn't need it that often. Friday is usually when all the laundry, carpets, and landscaping get worked on. My florist delivers fresh flowers that morning as well.

Mondays are weekend recovery as well as when all the windows get done. Our bed linens are changed every Mon-Wed-Fri as well.

It's a complicated system and I'm really in the dark as to what really goes on, I leave it to my boyfriend to oversee :)

I feel for anyone who has to clean a University dorm room! :scared:

34. What in the world do you do on Tue, Thurs, Sat and Sun?
If I didn't have someone in everyday, well I would just stay in bed.

3. Four kittehs, two food and water bowls....do the math.
They tear around the house like it's teh Kitteh Daytona 500, usually sending said water and food flying across the kitchen.

Daily. Sometimes twice daily.

(sigh)

Am I well trained, or what?

7. The rest of the house gets a vacuuming
Every other day, or the carpet tends to start getting furry.

I used to do it on a daily basis when the kids were little, as they were much better at dragging in the outdoors. Now, not so much.

24. I've found that using crystals seriously cuts down on litter box area maintenance.
We're still only using them in one box, and we only started because the new litter box we bought came with them and is supposed to use them. Then we realized that tracking of litter went down to zero, which is a bonus when you have a little toddler running all over the place.

4. Vaccuum once a week, usually followed by a quick mopping.
My house is small so it's not THAT big a task. But I still resent it.

6. Depends on the room...
Living Room/hallway: Sweep over the carpet daily - vacuum weekly (unless some catastrophy occurs)
Kitchen: Sweep daily - mop weekly in 'dry' weeks, sometimes daily in 'mud' weeks

14. Cleaning lady gives it a solid thrashing down once a month.
I will vacuum as needed, which isn't too often.

I do not mop. I will take a wet rag to a spill, but I hate mopping at home.

When I design my house, I'm making my kitchen like a restaurant's - with tile up the walls a bit and up the cupboards, so that I can go in with a serious mop and spray water and soap all over the place without worrying about damaging that goddamn wood shit everyone wants in their homes.

Same with the bathrooms.

I loved mopping when I was a janitor, because the places were actually designed to be easy to clean.

15. About twice a week
but we have birds, so a layer of spent seeds, pieces of parsley, orange, etc, food pellets, peanut shells, feathers, bits of cardboard/newspaper/paper towels and that which shall not be named builds rather quickly.

16. Vacuum every other day, mop every week
We have long haired dogs, so if we don't, it gets pretty yucky pretty fast.

We brush and groom the dogs regularly, but they still shed more than we can get.

Shedding season is a mess.

21. I run the Roomba. That little sucker is great, especially in the bedroom
where it gets under the bed and vacuums thoroughly. I also have allergies so I usually shut the door and let it go and then run the ir purifier. amazingly it can vacuum for

I think I saw them on EBAY for $150 recently. I would love to get a Scooba and I'm collecting coupons to see whether it's feasible. I have back problems so it really messes with me to vacuum and mop. I do mop but not as much as I need to especially considering the only carpet in my house is in the bedrooms and the rest is tile.
The grout is disgusting because it is too wide. Never try to save money by hiring a crack addict to lay a tile floor. It's just not worth it.

Anyway I've had as many as 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bird at one time. Lot's of hair and other gross stuff ends up in my house.

23. Depends on which floor.....
First floor, every day vacuuming, once a week mopping. That's where the dirt and doggie paws have the most impact.

Second floor - once a week vacuuming and mopping of bathroom. No shoes allowed upstairs, and dogs sleep downstairs, so very little fur to contend with.

But I hate it - and the mopping is a killer on my back. :(

But a layer of dirty clothes makes the hardwood a lot easier to walk on.

26. Unless it really needs it, rugs get done every two weeks. Floors, it depends on the toddler...
We only have rugs on the second floor now, and it's not a super high-traffic area, so the cleaning lady vacuums the rugs every two weeks. We just replaced the rugs with hardwood on the first floor, so that and the linoleum gets a good cleaning either a) once every two weeks, or b) when Cap'n Cranky Pants spills his food or his drinks because he hasn't mastered that whole fine motor skill thing just yet. So, some part of the non-carpeted floor is probably getting cleaned every day. :)

32. 40 horses, dogs, cats. Shit, there's no good answer.
I do try. Honestly, I do. Sometimes it's once a week. Sometimes differently than that (I'm not going to confess to anything else).

Sigh. Alas. So I'm a terrible housekeeper. A warning to anyone making an unsolicited visit: call at least an hour ahead so I can throw stuff into the bathroom, slam the door, and vacuum.

33. LOL...I'd rather spend time with animals than do housework!
My husband and I were given an hour heads-up before a visit by his parents once years ago... accumulated stuff in the living room went into our extra (clean) leaf cans with lids, and stashed in the back yard.
