All these food threads are making me hungry.
But I doubt I'll be eating much. The meds I'm on to allow me to breathe have had 2 side effects that I'm still debating whether I want to put up with.

1) I now sound like I'm inhaling helium all the time.
2) Nothing tastes good any more. Everything is off...some of my favorites so far off that I can't even choke them down.

No chance of getting the meds changed, either.

1. Reminds me of experiments in school when I was a kid.

We had to taste what kind of fruits we were eating, while blindfolded and holding our noses (they were cut into equal cubes)

Apples and pears are difficult to distinguish for example.

Don't know if this has something to do with it, but I thought I throw it in.

3. No, I can still smell fine.
And yes, being able to smell it does have a lot to do with being able to taste it. That's what's so frustrating. (apples and pears are in the same family so their scent is very close and hard to distinguish anyway)

The hamburger I had for lunch...smelled wonderful, the onion was tangy enough to bring tears to my eyes. Tasted like warm cardboard.

The lasagna I made Sunday...I judge herbs by the smell so I know I had just enough, lots of garlic, the house was alive with the odors. I won't tell you what it tasted like to me. I'd hate to gross you out. It isn't that there's no taste at all...that I could live with. It's that the taste of everything is so far "off" that it's terribly difficult to choke anything down.

4. It's strange, I wouldn't be surprised if the bun was from McDonald's because they taste like
cardboard sometimes, but that's probably not the case.

5. Home made hamburgers
buns from a local bakery. We don't do 'those' places.
