1. A few things
Get certified letters from the post office, check
Small grocery store run, check
Pick daily cat hork off its landing spot, check

Pack my office
Find an old furniture receipt so we can get our bed replaced
Finish two clients' projects so I can get paid
Deposit check from other client
Call my folks to let them know we just got our foreclosure notice
Get rip roaring drunk with the s.o. tonight

I think that's it for today.

:hi:

4. I'm too sick to do anything
My family is going out to Wegman's for lunch and shopping. I'm going to sit here and make faces while trying to swallow. Maybe suck on ice chips.

This afternoon is supposed to be a birthday party for my son. At least the ice cream cake will feel good on my throat.

25. Advice from anyone who can help me get a relative OUT of
my vacation home?

He's had keys to the building for 20 years b/c his brother gave them to him. It is my building too and I've never had any privacy with him having unlimited access to our vacation spot. I keep it cleaned up, pay the bills and taxes and maintenance and he goes over there when we are away - never tells us about it either. He is 'guarding' it for us. Brings his friends over anytime he wants - he and his wife used to stay there over weekends when they wanted to get away from their kids - all in the name of 'watching the place for us'. crap

I want my privacy but husband cannot shove his freeloader brother out. I am at my wits end - feel he will never get out and I'll be stuck with him way after my husband is gone... he is obsessed with keeping the keys to the place. arrrgh

any ideas are welcome - tia

28. Was it your husband who gave him the key?
The simple, albeit blunt, solution: change the locks.

If the same door fixtures and locks have been in place for that long, it wouldn't be a bad idea to update them anyway. The additional benefit is that the freeloading brother-in-law will no longer have free-reign over your vacation place, and your husband will not have to directly confront him in order to get the keys back.

31. Yes - husband gave him the keys. Changing the locks will
only get him a new set. They are tight and would not tell me about it. We've changed them before and he just got my husband to feel guilty so he got a new set. He is very persuasive and my husband is a soft touch.

Can not begin to describe how uncomfortable I've become knowing he is making decisions as to who he brings in to show it off to. The brother has already told some of his friends that he built the place and it is HIS. When we did change the locks his freaked out and my husband gave in.

He never offers to pay for the utility bills or replace any of the wine/food/other stuff he uses. My husband's cancer has prevented us from going over there much of this winter so the brother stepped up his visits, telling us he is watching the place "for us".. crap

Catching up on 3 weeks of reading and starting to review for the next exam. However, this is my first weekend in months of not studying my ass off. So, I actually haven't done anything yet. Just finished my morning coffee and now I'm thinking about lunch. I'll get those readings done eventually.

33. I worked some OT from 7-11, then did the grocery store and the
recycling center then home to bake up a storm with Sarahbellum, who's home from college for the weekend.
Other than that, just normal housekeeping chores, and possibly some Scrabble later.
