Mother daughter birthday fun! ***Pics***
My daughter turned 16 yesterday and wanted an industrial piercing in her ear for some time. I had wanted a nostril piercing since I was 18 (I turned 36 this past Tues). She kept saying I'd chicken out. I didn't. Neither did she. :woohoo:

The girl (the top bar thing at the top is the industrial piercing):

2. Thanks.
I still kind of feel like I have a booger, but I think it's kind of pretty (so forget I said that booger thing). My daughter is just gorgeous and extremely cool.

4. The piercer told me...
"most people have the curved part down and it feels better", so she put it down, but then it stuck out of the inside of my tiny nose and she said, "well, I guess it just doesn't work for your nose" (so I have to have it up). x(

8. I am so jealous!
I went into nursing school with a nose piercing, and came out with a closed-in hole. At that time, we were not allowed to wear these types of piercings in the clinical setting. I got mine done by a piercing gun, if that gives you an indication of how long ago that was! I guess I probably should have put it in at the end of the day, but, for whatever reason, I didn't. I want it back!

9. I'm a nurse myself.

I wanted to get this several years ago, but the same issue of nursing school. The hospital I work for is pretty relaxed about small piercings, but when job hunting in the future, I may have to take it out at work. Right now it just has to heal and since I have co-workers with the same piercing, it shouldn't be an issue (I hope). Yeah, guns are bad (more likely to get a nasty infection and/or slow heal time). I asked a lot of people's opinions before I went to this piercer. She was great!

11. 1111!!!!!
I wear a "plug" in my nostril piercing. you know, the body jewelry meant for the gauged holes in the lobes.

it looks good on you though a ring would be easier to deal with while healing, after-care wise, because you can rotate it and get the gunk cleaned out easier.

12. It's not bad for cleaning.
Still a little sore but like you said, I can rotate it and get the saline in there easily to keep it clean. It's just a little 18 gauge. My daughter's industrial is a 14 and she wants more piercings. I think I'm done for awhile as this is about the extent of what I can get away with in my profession. :hi:
