How many serious relationships have you had in your lifetime?
I've had three. One lasted one year, another lasted 2.5 years, and the third lasted 5 years.

What about you?

One that was a total of about 5 years off and on (mostly long-distance, with periods of seeing other people) and TWO different relationships, one after the other, where we lived together for 6 years and then he dumped me. (In the first case, we went so far as to get engaged.)

14. None.
I am a loser. Nothing ever lasted more than 3 months. I have no idea what it is like for some to love (or at least to MEAN IT when they say it and not just lie about it). What the hell is wrong with me? I am 39 and not getting any younger.

I think I'd settle for being with someone I like and not worry about the love thing because apparently that is not going to happen ever.

17. I'm tempted to say none - but
there was one that I thought was serious and there was one that somebody else thought was serious (yeah, I tried to tell him otherwise).

I don't really want a "serious relationship." I'd be delighted to share my life with an opposite sex friend who has similar lifestyle preferences, values, interests, and goals. But I'm not looking. If it happens it happens.

12-15... 3 yrs.
16-23... 7 yrs.
26-28... 2 yrs. (this one was a marriage that I had my first child in, so I wouldn't change a thing, I learned I was strong and my son and I moved on)..

29 to present...16.5 yrs and counting (GREAT marriage and two beautiful boys)

Right now I'm playing it slow with a triad. We'll see where that goes, but no pressure, as the two in question have been dear friends for a long time.

57. That's kind of hard to answer
When I was 11, I was supposed to get engaged to a Native American who lived with my grandparents. I guess it wasn't so serious, but I thought it was, then. When I was 14 I got a boyfriend I kept til I was 18, but he loved me much more than I loved him. I dumped him when I fell in love with another man, and we lasted a whole two months, because he didn't love me. Next time I fell in love, it was when I was 21 and he was 16, and that lasted a month. Lasted until he ran off with my brother, although whether or not they were lovers I will probably never know. I have my suspicions. Finally I met my husband of 14 years when I was 22, and married him when I was 23. And that's the end of the story, or at least that's all I'm telling.

58. Not sure how you'd define "serious"
but I'd say I've had two. One was seven years. The other was only 8 months, but we lived together and talked about marriage and kids. It turned serious too fast was the problem. So, yeah.

59. Serious to them or serious to me?
I dated a few guys who were serious enough to buy rings and propose (to which I replied "Are you serious?") and they were delusional. For me, I'd say I've had 3 relationsips that I took seriously. I'm married to one of them.

another just contacted me after many years and we had another date -- he is still such a sweet boy.

one has his own very successful dance troupe in OZ.

one is tramping around west hollywood last i heard.
