Is GD the "chicken little" forum? Does anybody there appreciate good news?

So I posted this thread about a major study which concluded that cell phones are NOT linked to brain cancer...

And the only response to it was madinmaryland (thanks) but barely anybody looked at it! One rec and like 50 views. You know if I had posted CELL PHONES CAUSE CANCER! People would be all over it.
I know some people hate cell phones, but for many of us, they are necessary for work and personal life. *sigh*. I guess bad news sells.

when I came back to DU I was hanging out in DG, but then realized that, as you said, every other thread was THE SKY IS FALLING... and it's a controlled demolition. I'm am too distrustful of this administration to put anything past them... there are precedents of evil ppl who kill their own... and at this point I see the Bush League as evil. If they're not... then what is evil? How many hundreds of thousands or millions of innocent women and children do you kill based upon false pretenses that you created before you are evil?

Then the illuminati and new world order people join in on thread after thread... this stuff, to me, is way beyond reality. Of course rich people congregate with one another and work to help each other remain shit rich. d'oh. The "new world order" sounds like the old world order, to me. why give it some strange otherness when a two-class caste system was the economic model for most cultures until only a couple of hundred years ago?

things are sourced to Alex Jones, who is either a nut or a Barnum Bailey Circus or an intentional diversion from the more mundane realities of corruption and theft and disregard for human rights? It's not good for your mental well being to spend too much time there -- whether in the forum or in hearing distance of this sort of worldview.

the other sort of thread, of course, is the fight between smokers and non, which is a no win fight. I know better than to even read them, but sometimes I do...and I'm always sorry after the fact. I always feel pissed off if I come anywhere near those threads.

as far as GD:P - at this point I try not to even look at the titles of posts.

Few people seem to want to read good news on any political forum because that doesn't feed outrage. Keep posting good info, please, to create at least little balance. You can let ppl know in the lounge. I think a lot of people in this forum avoid GD more often than not. Life's too short.
