Loungers: Recommend me some wine...
I'm looking for Reds, I tend to like Cabernet Sauvignon and Beaujolais Nouveau...Not too pricey. :)

1. Yellow Tail. I'm drinking their Cab/Merlot blend right this moment...
Less than $15. Probably an 88. They consistently rank quite high in Wine Spectator. I also like Concha y Toros Cab 2004, about $17, from Chile.

My beverage purveyor is selling all varieties of Yellow Tail for $9.99, an unbeatable price for a very good group of wines.

30. My favorite Merlot

http://www.santaema.cl/botella_j-i.htm

Very inexpensive, surprisingly good:

Aroma : Intense and fruit-like, it reminds of red fruit, spices and some fine and elegant toast.

Flavors: On the palate, once again you can taste mature red fruits with good structure and delicious bottom, it is filling and has a pleasant persistence. Soft vanilla notes appear at the end

That's the official description.

TO me it has the flavor of fragrant Bing cherries, with a peppery after taste.

4. Layer Cake Shiraz

Had it tonight with strip steaks. Fruity. Not too heavy, but substantial enough to stand up to the steak. This was the first time I had it, and while it's a little more than I spend on an everyday wine (I think I got it for around $18) I will probably get it again.

from Napa Valley...

Hard to make recs without knowing your market - there are some great wines out there for a decent price....

Look for Billi Billi out of Australia, Angus makes a great Cab also...

Mr MB (the real wine geek in the house) recommends Excelsior Cab, Terra Andina from Chile, Hayman & Hill - all of these should be less than $15. J. Lohr is good for an everyday, mass market...

24. Yummm.....
One of my favorites is Menage a Trois. It's very smooth with a hint of chocolate. Oddly enough I can't stand chocolate but I love this wine. Plus it's fun telling the sales guy I'm looking for a Manage a Trois. http://www.thewinebuyer.com/sku40194.html?utm_source=Shopzilla&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=FOLIE%20A%20DEUX%20MENAGE%20A%20TROIS%20RED%202006

Others might disagree, but I think Pillar Box Red is pretty damn good. It's not a box wine so don't let the name fool you. It's a very vibrant, fruity red. The flavors are not subtle...in fact it sort of explodes in your mouth. I'm not sure what you would pair it with though...it sort of stands on its own.

So my two suggestions went in two different directions. I would describe the first as liquid velvet and the second as a fruit explosion. Choose depending on your mood...when you're not out chasing car thieves and stuff. :D

33. Hey There bi_baby!
Aussie wines are my personal favourite right now. Wolf Blass Yellow Label is a really fine wine. But do you want to know a secret? Most French-Canadians (comme moi) drink a French vin ordinaire called Kressman. For the price, it is superb. I serve Kressman all the time at dinner parties and guests always ask me the the vintage. I just laugh to myself...........because it is a really cheap red but tastes like a real high end wine.

it sells out extremely fast.
The muscadines for this wine are
hand selected.

Queen Anne's Revenge

Sweet and complex Queen Anne's Revenge is 100% Muscadine wine- The juice for this wine has soaked with the skins for several days making this wine richer and more complex than our other Muscadine Wines. Queen Anne's is available for only several months during the year as supplies are limited and demand is great!

29.99 if purchased by the single bottle.

54. I'd suggest a Cote du Rhone
It is a product of France, a very nice red. You can taste the grape in it--like you can in a Beaujolais or a well made Zin. Dry without being terribly tannic. You can drink them fairly young or you can lay them down for a few years.

One of my favorites to just sit and drink. Usually not terribly expensive but some are better than others. Be sure and buy a couple of different makes.
