Am I the only person whose typos are often valid words?

It drives me crazy! I love the spell checker built into Firefox! The only problem is that many of my typos are also words, so I miss them before posting. I always proof read my posts after they are posted (final sanity check), and too often I will have to edit the post to correct things like that should be than. The thing is, the "t" is not even close to the "n" - is there something wrong with my brain's wiring? I often seem to make typos that make no sense at all - aaargh! :silly: Am I the only person with this affliction?

1. Sometimes I just type a completely wrong word

I'll say something like - I was waiting this show on television last night.

Or - some people believe in creationism as opposed to evaluation.

I don't know if it's a form of dyslexia or early dementia.

It's almost as if my brain does a bad "lookup" when I got to fetch the word from memory. Glad I'm not the only one - it makes me livid sometimes!

I always hope I can edit before anyone notices.

7. I think I have more posts edited within the first minute than anybody on the internet!

I regularly post on no less than 20 boards (this is the only political board I post on) and I am constantly rushing to edit my posts on UBB style forums before the timeout period has expired and "edited by" shows up at the bottom of the post. I sometimes edit a post up to 5 times in the first minute. Sometimes I am jealous of the people who don't know or don't care about their spelling and grammar. Ignorance really IS bliss - lol!

4. Word with the same number of letters, but the wrong word

Lately, I've noticed I will type a word that has the same number of letters, is very similar, but not the word I'm looking for. For instance, twice in that last sentence, I typed "work" instead of "word."

It's as if my hands are functioning independently of my brain at some moments. :crazy:

I don't know what that means.

Like you say, the spell checker doesn't catch it because the wrong word is a legitimate word.
