Some of you might recognize her. She was a wonderful actress and you guys might remember her when she was on "The Golden Girls", she played Dorothy's best friend from school who was gay.

I had the pleasure of meeting her in 2001. She sat next to me at a resturant here in LA. She was so beautiful. As we left I told her how much I loved her work and pointed out the "Golden Girls". She was just charming and wonderful.

RIP, Lois.

4. What the hey? No, not Lois Nettleton....

I'm crushed...Lois and Suzanne were two of my
very favorite actresses from my 'young housewife' days.

Lois Nettleton was a very classy lady and unique is so
many ways.

I hope Mariette Hartley is well, 'cause that would make
a trio I couldn't bear.

5. Mariette Hartley
is ageless. Unless she steps in front of a bus, our great-great-grandchildren will be enjoying her youthful beauty.

6. Before Golden Girls, Lois Nettleson played a lesbian on Medical Ctr
In the early 70's - it was probably one of the first protrayals of a lesbian on television. Even tho I was only around 10 years old at the time, I still remember the scene where she tries to explain to Chad Everett that just because she was a lesbian it didn't mean she hated men. He was trying to figure out why she had not been receptive to his advances.

7. Oh...she was a staple in a lot of television shows from the 70s and 80s.
She seemed like such a nice person.

That's sad to hear.

9. I remember this great ABC Movie of The Week
Lois played a reporter going undercover to investigate the of a young woman in a prison.

It was pretty campy. The prison warden was IDA LUPINO!!!

There was every stereotype prison matron in it. My favorite was this one "long timer" a big gal with a heart of gold. When this one young "chicken" started touching Lois' hair and giggling and talking "foolishness" ... big momma said to Lois .... "Don't mind her, honey. She ain't rite."

10. She was so beautiful! And you were so kind to let her know how
much you appreciated her work. Not everyone has the Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt etc name and top billing, yet they make the best contributions to movies, tv, and theater. I loved The Golden Girls.

13. I do remember her from The Golden Girls, but the first thing I think of when I see her name...
is the Twilight Zone episode "The Midnight Sun". It's one of my favorite episodes.
