Good morning, A treat for the Everquest fans
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 06:24 AM by Kamika
Hey'all

Heres a everquest movie of my Guild on everquest defeating the Rathe it's pretty cool. It's 47 megs though so if you got modem you might not like it.

Best is to download it

http://www.own3d.nu/eqmovies/Everquest_-_AD_vs_Rathe.avi

You might need this pack to watch it it's the latest divx thingys

http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXPro511GAINBundle.exe

If you decide to watch it even though you don't know what Everquest is I can tell you its a massive multiplayer rpg, everyone of those guys (except the trees that is the council) is controlled by a real person.

Warning: the DivX thing installs some kind of commercial thing called *Gain* reminds me of a spyware popup, unfortunately the divx is nessecery for alot of stuff

1. Doesn't want to connect
Just keeps getting stuck on "connecting". Doesn't even go to "Loading, Please Wait" - which is NOT a good thing to see in Everquest. hehe

2. use ffdshow instead of DivX
Open Source and supports almost all formats.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow

5. EQ vs. DAoC
After a few years of the grind and fighting AI controlled beasties my guild moved to Dark Age of Camelot. It's much more fun to fight against actual people.

I still have nightmares about corpse recovery. <shudder>

6. You could fight people in EQ
If you moved to a PvP server. of course, I think they charge an arm and a leg for it, or maybe it's up to two arms and a leg by now.

I only play EQ on occasion. Don't get into it very often. I should probably just cancel it, but I won't switch to DAOC or anything like that.
