Attention DU Computer Techs...I need help!

Okay, I've been having a few problems with my computer as of late, so please bear with me as I explain. First off, whenever I turn on the computer, I get the following error message: "idell has caused an error in IDELL.EXE. idell will now close." This has been happening for about a month, but I've done nothing about it because it didn't seem to affect anything.

The bigger issue I'm having is with the internet: every so often, a porn site will suddenly pop up whenever I click on something innocuous. After battling with the damned thing to get it closed, I'll usually get a C++ run time error (I think that's right...). This seems to have resulted in certain websites not being able to display full pictures/graphics. So my questions in re: this problem are, what can I do to get rid of those porn sites that keep popping up (is it a cookie thing?), and what can I do to restore/fix the C++ problem?

Thanks for whatever help you can give!

1. It sounds like you have a resident cookie or....................
programs which have installed themselves on your computer. Search for AdAware or SpyBot and download either of these free programs and they will find all these cookies on your hard drive. Prepare to be shocked. When I first ran these programs they found about 140+ cookies on my computer. Good luck!!

3. What operating system?
I would recommend downloading Ad-Aware 6 from here:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Run it and clean out any spyware that you might have installed on
your box.
Then, install a free anti-virus program called AVG by Grisoft.com:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl6.php

Then update the AVG and run a full system scan.

I think that your rig is currently suffering from a browser
"hijack" attempt and that's why the porn site continues to loadup.
There are several trojan horse viruses out there that do this...

4. download and run both Spybot and Adaware
that will probably solve your porn popup problems. Incidentally, I don't know what idell.exe is, but it's not something that normally runs in the bootup sequence. Try looking in the startup programs folder and see what's in there.
