5. I grew up in Massachusetts...
...and the ONLY potato chips I remember eating in the first 16 years of my life were Wise. Glorious, greasy, old-school chips. That and "Cott's" soft drinks. The only soft drink they make now is RC Cola, but as a kid I used to like their pink grapefruit soda (one hell of a lot better tasting than it sounds...not sugary at all and a real, authentic blast of carbonated citrus flavor).

I love California, but the food? If you want great food you either had become a great cook (I chose to do that) or move to the East Coast.

Pizzas, fish, "submarine sandwiches"...and the funny thing is that there is a HUGE market in California for places selling these items as "authentic East Coast style" and they NEVER get it right. NEVER...

2. JiffyPop has gone soooo downhill over the years -
Especially since you can only get that cruddy "butter" flavor nowdays. I used to love their plain poppin' over the stovetop or campfire/fireplace. But that "butter" flavor is nasty.

4. OTHER, in a big way.
One portable induction cook top, single hob, 1200 watts.
One large stainless steel bowl.
Peanut Oil
Popcorn
Kosher Salt
Combine, cover with foil, poke holes in the foil
Heat while moving constantly
Presto, perfect popcorn.

11. Stovetop tastes the best
But I usually use my air popper because it's easier and healthier. The inventor of microwave popcorn should be spanked. That's some nasty stuff.

12. Whirlypop

smallest bit of oil (or no oil if you really want to go healthy) and it makes the best popcorn I've ever had (and I guarantee that after working for a movie theater that I've made and eaten a LOT more popcorn than 90% of what any normal person would eat!)
