I am back to work today. After staying up late the last days and really sleeping in I had some troubles getting up this morning. But other than that I am fit for work. Books are stacking up on my desk, having to deal with bills from last year .... more than enough to do on the first day.

How are you doing today? Are you going back to work today or are you off for a couple more days?

15. flat white ceiling, very light cream walls, white satin trim...

most of the color is in the furnishings. I have read "The War for Righteousness: Progrerssive Christianity, the Great War, and the Rise of the Messianic Nation" by Gamble. I have been meaning to read it for awhile, and it actually relates to my thesis work, but just haven't gotten around to it.

Next I will read "The Handmaiden's Tale" by Margaret Attwood, and probably reread "All Quiet on the Western Front."

What plans do you have?

Back at work today, the whole place is still pretty cool - they close the building down over the Christmas-New Year break and so the heating was only just fired up this morning. Harleykid goes back to work today and is dreading it. Harleydad had some days off last week, if you can call them that. They made him work on his days off for at least half days ... and called him on Monday, which was supposed to be a company holiday. So it won't be a big shock to him to go back to work today.

When you get your bills done from last year, will you please come over and do mine? I don't pay as well as your boss, but I'm lots of fun.

48. Well, you know how it is with Sophie.

Harleykid left 8 years ago today, and left Sophie for us to babysit. (BTW, Sophie just turned 11 yesterday. Happy Birthday, Sophie! :party:) She never came back, couldn't get an apartment that allowed kitties, etc., until we had kept Sophie for at least 3 more years. Sophie was used to having brothers and sisters by then and we all decided it wouldn't be fair to pull her away from them and leave her all alone during the day while harleykid worked. Harleykid has new kitties, now, but every time she calls, we put her on the speaker phone and Sophie talks and purrs at the phone. When harleykid visits, Sophie wants to be fussed over by her. Sophie remembers who rescued her. :loveya:

Simon will always remember that you're his mom and you're the one who rescued him, even if he chooses Serengeti to live with. :hug: :loveya: And if you live nearby, you can visit him as often as you like! :bounce:
