So, what would you think?
My wife's brother gives her this for Christmas:

Sony Bravia 46 inch flat screen rear projection LCD

and this has been around 10 years or so and was ours:

Sony 36 inch tv

so I say, "will now you can give me the 36 inch tv" (I have a 27 inch sitting in my living room now.)

and she says that she thinks she wants to put the 36 in her bedroom instead.

So, we are separated, but we aren't divorced. All our stuff is still "our stuff" and somehow I seem to end up on the short end of the stick.

Now I'm feeling like I'm whining, and my inner diplomat says "it's just stuff" and no issue was made of it because it is Christmas eve and family was there, and hey stuff can be got again.

I just can't help but feel that i'm getting screwn over and over here... (was going to say something snarky but changed my mind)

any thoughts?

1. I say listen to your diplomat. He/she sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders...

4. Listen to your diplomat and
your lawyer (if you have one now or when you retain one.) You asked, she said no, something else in your joint estate is now yours. Lawyers are good at that sort of stuff, people who are divorcing, no matter how amicably, are generally not very good at it.

It's just a TV and not.worth.the.emotional.cost, IMHO.

6. yeah...
in that perspective you are right

it's an overall feel

but a lawyer

I thought I had one, but he won't return my emails

so it's shopping for lawyers again I guess (he had told me that was his preferred method of communication although neither one of us has filed because we both had an agreement to wait 6 months before taking that kind of action mostly for our son's sake. He still wants dad to come home after his lease runs out. :( )

5. I know what you mean. That little flood of testosterone accompanying
such moments always tries to get me into trouble...

7. it's more than that
but, I'm going to let this slide

it's too hard to explain, and maybe it is just the way it always is.

in court, all the stuff is split...

so we will have to come up with more amicable and fair ways of dealing with the "stuff"

we do okay but not perfect with our son.

8. SCREW THE OP....
you all are right on the money...

I'm willing to walk away from this with nothing if that is what has to happen.

Its even a spiritual thing, to see it as just "stuff" and not really of great import.

I don't watch much tv anyway

11. It's not the size of the tube that matters.
It's all about the reception.
