5. Ray Manzarek says that "Riders" was the actual last song recorded by Jim Morrison.
Ray's pretty interesting to listen to in interviews. He's got the whole "The sixties...I was THERE" thing going on. One time I heard an interview with him and as he set up "Riders On The Storm" he said "And with that, Jim Morrison left this world..."

I've got all of the Doors' recordings, but I've always felt that the two perfect ALBUMS were the first one and LA Woman. The others have their fair share of classic tracks, but LA Woman...especially with "Riders" as its closer...is an experience. It's a great CD to pop in when I'm working on a project. I've built more than a few Web Sites with "LA Woman" as my background music.

I've heard it was his last and his best also!

I just bought 'The Best of The Doors' today and am thoroughly enjoying it!

It has two CD's. 8 songs on one CD and 11 on the other. :D

12. I always call them "Uncle Ray's Spooky Campfire Tales"
"And no one ever saw the body..."

I agree with you about those two being perfect albums. I like a lot of "Morrison Hotel", but there is also some dreck there

The Doors: The Crystal Ship Original Video - 2:56

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzIy3Vx2lLQ

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Crystal Ship
Before you slip into unconsciousness
I'd like to have another kiss
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss
The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We'll meet again, we'll meet again
Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly
The crystal ship is being filled
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills
A million ways to spend your time
When we get back, I'll drop a line
