I am out of ideas.

We haven't had a movie night for two months due so we are making this into a party, must dress like a pirate to come.

1. First off... you must have rum.
That's a given.

And possibly some dishes with rum in them. Bananas Foster or Rum Cake or something like that.

Also wouldn't be a bad idea to have something with citrus in it, to stave off the scurvy.

3. I do have a rum cake being made as of today by a neighbor.
We will have a few children coming so we have to be careful with the rum.

9. Well then you're set for that.
It probably wouldn't hurt to have something a bit jamaican style too, like jerked chicken or something like that.

2. Oh this is funny...
tomorrow Mr. Writer and I are hosting a half day-long movie-watching party. We're making lunch then watching all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Then we're heading out for Thai food afterward.

We already had our pirate party in November.

(What is it with the pirate thing?)

4. We hadn't had a movie night for a few months due to illness so we are making up for it
with all three movies.

I am thinking of chicken legs, but what else to go with it.

10. Call them peg legs.....
you can marinate them (plain for the kids). You can give the kids fish stick or davey jones pizza(or aquarium pizza take a pita round some sausce, dill for seaweed a little cheese for bubbles and those Pepperidge Farm goldfish and warm it up a bit), some cider 'grog'.

For adults a spicy or jerk chicken, rice with saffron and golden rasins, a yougurt based dip for fruit and veggies, and those drumsticks, and good beer.

Finger type food is a good choice for a home movie.

11. Finger food is always good for a crowd.
Fish sticks are a good idea for the kids.

I can make Spanish rice, that would go really good with chicken legs.

Beer, soft drinks and ice tea.

Lots of fruit and veggies.

Rum cake, not for the kids.

Thanks guys for the help, now I am off the store.

It is a pirates life for me.

6. What do pirates eat?
Salty cod (or sometimes scrod)
hardtack that’s tough to chew;
they never eat pizza --
instead, they dine
on seaweed and barnacle stew.

Grog, of course. And keep some fresh citrus on hand, to ward off scurvy. :)

Have fun! I mean, Yarrrrrr!!

7. Thanks for the link.
I am thinking pirates ate anything they could steal, might have ate pretty well depending on the ship they attacked.
