Now I believe the MyDoom virus is a case of MIHOP
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 11:28 AM by JCCyC
See this piece of slanderous garbage from the BBC: http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/mpapps/pagetools/print/news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3457823.stm

(Admins: yeah, there's 5 paragraphs, but they're too short!!!)
(...)
But, in the case of the MyDoom computer worm, the motivation seems clearer.

It has attacked a company based in Utah called SCO, bringing down its website with a barrage of data sent from countless computers into which the worm had been insinuated, unbeknownst to the users.

There seems little doubt that SCO was targeted - illegally and unacceptably, lest anyone be in any doubt - because it has enraged many people devoted to the Linux operating system.
(...)
If anyone's anger has no measure, it is the wrath of internet zealots who believe that code should be free to all (open source).

So, it seems likely that the perpetrators of the MyDoom virus and its variants are internet vandals with a specific grudge.
(...)
Is SCO getting propaganda tips from the B*sh Administration? CUI BONO, people??? :puke:

Edit: typo, clearer formatting, and additional thoughts.

1. I disagree. . . .
As soon as I read the full details of the worm, my first instinct was that it was someone pissed off at SCO.

They've created a lot of animosity with their lawsuits.

4. Like BushCo

Like BushCo, SCO sees that the end of it's days are near. They rely on a sweetheart deal for an operating system they didn't build.

In 5 years, Unix will be completely dead being replaced by Unix. SCO knows that they are full of shit. They are simply making legal noise to drive up their stock price. They are in death throws.

BushCo too is in death throws. They are running out of decent lies to cover their tracks. They are in death throws and throwing out odd policy endeavours in hopes of propping up their sagging approval numbers.

BTW, SCO Sucks. If the weapons of mass destruction are in the same place as the alleged copyright infringements within Linux. No where to be found.
