This "The Golden Compass" business cracks me up.
The Catholic Church is upset about the movie based on the book "The Golden Compass" because it involves evil groups of Catholic conspirators who are determined to censor and destroy blasphemy, heresey, and free thought, so they're using evil groups of Catholic conspirators in order to censor it.

The irony is both tasty and delicious.

“The good news is that the first book’s explicit references to this church have been completely excised"

-from the US Conference of Bishop's "good" review of the movie.

5. That's what I was thinking.
I just picked up the books this weekend.

There's really very little sacrilege in the first book, it doesn't really get started until the beginning of second. So the complaints about the producers removing all the sacrilegious stuff may be a bit premature.

I went to go see it out of curiousity, and I was sorely dissappointed. :(

a movie...

I bet they are all in cahoots...
