Does anybody dream they can fly?
I'm working with someone who is worried because they are dreaming about being able to fly. I do it all the time and love it.

1. Dream
I always fly in my dreams.....its great...
:hi:

"In dreams, some of us walk the stars. In dreams, some of us ride the whelming brine of space, where every port is a shining one, and none are beyond our reach. Some of us, in dreams, cannot reach beyond the walls of our own little sleep."

2. I did once... I loved it and wish I could do it again.
It was a lucid dream and the flying was my idea. :)

3. I used to dream about flying pretty regularly.
I don't know if I still do. I don't tend to remember my dreams anymore.

14. I don't know if it's true that flying in your dreams means
you're thinking about sex. :P

Of course, aren't we all more or less always thinking about sex.

17. That's why I love flying in my dreams.
But, I'd rather dream about sex and flying separately.

4. It's one of the first steps to being a lucid dreamer.
Actually you can use any recurring dream to become aware that you are dreaming. Then change the dream in any way you want.

19. My problem is stopping.
When I'm flying I'll land in the wrong place and can't take off.
It seems self-defeating or belief. Very interesting. Could it be a covert sex dream?

5. Not as often as I used to.
I was always afraid that if I touched the ground or something connected to the ground I wouldn't be able to get back up. As a cheap substitute while awake, I love swimming underwater.

6. In only remember doing this as a little kid
I read the lucid dreaming thread also, and I've even tried to lucid dream... I lost interest because I didn't keep training myself, so to speak,

I remember reading long ago that flying in a dream is sort of "escapism". I loved flying as a kid. Weeeee....

8. Nothing to be afraid of--it symbolizes astral projection
What folks strive for--being aware of when the soul leaves the body for a little R&R while the body recharges during sleep. Your coworker should be thrilled s/he can observe the process.

10. All the time, since I was a kid.

I learned to control it as an adult. Now I fly over/through beautiful mountains, valleys, forests, big cities at night, the ocean, the desert, fly through outer space past stars and galaxies and stuff... wherever. And I can make myself dive or do barrel rolls or turn or fly backwards and everything keeps going past me in the proper perspective.

It's sooo fun!

15. I do, fairly often. I love it, too!! No one ever reacts in my dreams to my flying, though.
And that kinda pisses me off, because I'm always the only person who can fly. And no one cares. Assholes.

But I love the sensation! Sometimes in the dream, all I can do is manage a slight hovering while still standing up straight with the ability to move around a few inches over the floor; other times I can fly way up and loop and curve.

16. Rarely
I did have one really vivid dream I flew into the front row a Grateful Dead show and hovered there while they were playing this jam I did not recognize. I wish I could have somehow written it down but I can't read music or compose so...

I can't fly without flapping my arms....if I don't flap fast enough I only levitate about a foot off the ground....flying in dreams is slow going for me...lol
