Sad Anniversary: George Harrison left us six years ago today
I'm thankful every day that George Harrison left us so much beautiful music and a legacy of selflessness, humor and love that, to me, is unmatched. I miss him very much....Hare Krishna, George, wherever you are.

5. My favorite guy
He influenced me so much--love of his music gave me the courage to learn to play the guitar and sing in public, and his interest in India played a big part in my spiritual development.

I miss him very much. :(

Here's to you, George, wherever you are. (And cheers if you have no intention of incarnating again for a long time--totally understandable!)

8. "All Those Years Ago"
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 07:47 PM by Mike03
I can't believe it's been six years.

Remember that song "All Those Years Ago" about John Lennon. I love that song, but when I last had Amazon and searched for a CD or collection that had this beautiful song on it, I could not find anything. Is it available?

George Harrison was amazing. He wrote beautiful songs, even for movies like "Lethal Weapon II" (Cheer Down). What a talented, wonderful soul.

9. Holy carp... has it been that long?
I remember that day very well... just by coincidence I'd put on one of my two Beatles t-shirts that morning. When I went home from class for lunch I changed into my other one.

That was also the same day my ex's parents came home early and caught us together. Luckily we were (mostly) dressed so they couldn't do much more than kick me out.

10. Oh man, I remember that day.
:( I was in high school and had just started really getting into The Beatles (yeah, I know, late bloomer here), and I was really sad when I found out he had died. :( It was raining that day - a cold, gray, depressing rain, which was sort of fitting I guess. I even remember what I was wearing. Anyway. RIP, George. :loveya:

12. That happened before I was born,
but I miss them both, too. :(

(Same deal for Keith Moon & John Entwistle, incidentally - Keith died before I was born, and John died about two years before I really got into The Who. :( I would've loved to at least see The Who in concert with John before he died - he was my inspiration for picking up bass guitar.)

17. It seems like forever... thanks for reminding me
Harrison was "the quiet Beatle", remember? Listening to the concert for Bangladesh and other Clapton, Dillon arrangements, whenever I hear stuff from the traveling Woolberries, I wish we had him so much longer.

He, like the Edge, wasn't a great guitarist.

But he had SOUL.

I miss him very much.
Love ya George

20. George And Billy

This is a picture of George and Billy Preston which was taken along side President Ford, however, I posted the one with just the two. I have another one with the 3 of them.

I have been thinking about George a lot lately. Just recorded "Help" the other day while watching it Sundance was showing it. Also listened "Love" which is an interesting arrangement of songs.

I too miss him a lot. He was an inspiration and had a wonderful influence in oh so many ways.

Peace George

21. well
Isn't it a pity
Now, isn't it a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Some things take so long
But how do I explain
When not too many people
Can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity

Isn't it a pity
Isn't is a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity
Forgetting to give back
Now, isn't it a pity

(6 times, fade the 6th:)
What a pity
What a pity, pity, pity
What a pity
What a pity, pity, pity

Song: What Is Life
Duration: 4.16
Track No.: 1-5
Composer: Harrison
Vocals: George Harrison
Year: 1970Lyrics:

What I feel, I can't say
But my love is there for you anytime of day
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What I know, I can do
If I give my love now to everyone like you
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make ev'rything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side
Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What I feel, I can't say
But my love is there for you any time of day
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side
Oh tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

(fade:)
Oh tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me who am I without you by my side
