I was feeling really blue for days for really no apparent reason--and it turns out it was a cold in the incubation stage.

Hooray! <cough, cough>

1. I wondered why I was exhausted all the time.
This started when I was 11 or 12. I came home every day from school and crashed for a three hour nap. Crashed HARD. Couldn't have done any after school activities even if I'd wanted to.

Turned out I went to the doctor and my thyroid had died due to an autoimmune disease, and I was put on Armour thyroid. Still taking it lo these many years later.

When I was working and going to school, I lived on caffeine, sugar and panic that the world was coming to an end if I didn't pass a course, or get a transcript turned in on time.

Now I'm retired.

2. cortisol?
Ever get your cortisol checked? Sounds like adrenal issues too (they go hand in hand with thyroid issues).

3. I think there are a lot of low grade viruses that we catch
that zap us without really making us sick. I notice with my kids that every once in a while, one of them is beyond tired for no apparent reason for a couple of days, but no symptoms. No fever, no sore throat, etc., Couple of days later, they're as good as new.

4. That is where I am
depressed at feeling sick. Nothing major, just exhausted, cranky, sad, and sick. :(

I hope you feel better.
