Poll question: Do you like going to the dentist?
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 03:01 PM by Omphaloskepsis
I have to go in the morning and I am looking forward to it. I have a couple of cavities that need worked on. They give me some gas and I put on my iPod and and all is well. I have never felt any pain while there, and they have a window that lets me look at the ducks playing in the millrace. Very relaxing.

I guess after having years of intense pain from a lack of of dental work I enjoy it now. I was twenty the first time I ever went to see a dentist. (thanks mom)

I don't have insurance. I have spent about 3K in cash to get things fixed in the last 6 months. Tomorrow is another 248$. Sigh. But after this I am done.

So, do you enjoy going to the dentist? My philosophy has always been to deal with a little pain now to prevent a lot of pain in the future.

edit :: I need to stop drinking in the morning..

1. I'm friends with my dentist...
So it's a chance to catch up. But that's about as good as it gets.

2. Im kind of in your boat....
Thanks to a bad orthodontist and quirky gene's im getting the last 15 years of bad care fixed.. But my dentist is very liberal with the Novocaine and gas so its not unpleasent...

Considering what my teeth are going to look like $10k later, hell yeah I love going!...

4. My Dentist causes pain.....
...pain I feel. AND....and... he didn't let me run to the restroom last time I got a crown...until he was good and ready (I think he is a control freak, too!). So, it takes a lot of mental "pumping up" plus an empty bladder before I go....

but, he is very, very good (otherwise) so I tolerate it all.

God. I have to get another crown on Nov. 12th....

:scared:

5. My dentist is pretty cool.
While a visit is never enjoyable, the art and science has progressed considerably since the belt driven drill days that I recall so (ahem) fondly.
