What's the last CD you bought?
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 05:51 PM by mvd
Mine was Jimmy Eat World's Chase This Light. It's not their best, but just good Jimmy Eat World is still very enjoyable.

I won't be buying more for a while. I'm saving these for Christmas gifts:

Bruce Springsteen's Magic
Vanessa Carlton's Heroes & Thieves
Lucy Walsh's Lost In The Lights (now THIS is good dance music, and there's more to her - the beautiful "Lullabye" is kind of like a Nina Gordon ballad. I wish Hilary Duff, Britney, and Lindsay would move over for her!)
Kyle Lardner - Lost In The Lights
Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer - Schematics (short CD, but it's such a pop/rock gem that I want the physical CD)
Cindy Alexander - Wobble With The World

I'll buy more, like the Wussy, Debbie Harry, and Jacqueline Rose CDs, with Christmas money. I doubt the Bree Sharp and Kay Hanley CDs will be out this year.

I feel that's fair for a download CD. I would second her recommendation of it. :hi:

8. Last CD I bought, or last CD that was delivered?
I often pre-order albums, so the last CD I bought and the last one I actually got are probably different.

18. I'm more liberal with 5 stars than most pro. critics are
The only thing that kept the Radiohead from a 5 is the first song.

17. Mine (actually, last several):
Looking at my records (no pun intended), the last CD I bought was Porcupine Tree's "Nil Recurring" EP.

Other recent purchases (some received, some not):

Trout Fishing In America - Who Knows What We Might Do EP (ordered, but received the wrong disc; waiting for the right one) - Best children's music ever. http://www.troutmusic.com

Mieka Pauley - Elijah Drop Your Gun - singer/songwriter out of Boston. Reminds me of Joss Stone, but I heard of Mieka long before I heard of Joss Stone. Songs are better, too. http://www.mieka.com

Genesis - Philadelphia, 9/18/07 - The official soundboard recording of the Genesis concert I attended. And I like the songs from "Invisible Touch," so piss off, haters. :)

Negativland - A Big 10-8 Place/No Other Possibility DVD - I already had this, but it came with the DVD as a bonus.

Negativland - Our Favorite Things DVD/Bonus Audio CD I forget the name of. - A compilation of various Negativland video experiments. Hooray for the four Floptops! http://www.negativland.com

Steven Wilson/Dirk Serries - Continuum II - The guy from Porcupine Tree and some other guy do their ambient thing.

Christopher DeLaurenti - Favorite Intermissions - Mr. DeLaurenti secretly recorded orchestras warming up during intermissions and released his favorite recordings. He's now transcribing some of them for chamber ensemble.

Mike Keneally - hat. and Boil That Dust Speck remasters with bonus DVDs - Keneally was the stunt guitarist in Frank Zappa's last touring band. He's also played with Steve Vai and is currently one of the guitarists in the touring version of Dethklok. :) He's also put out a series of amazing and varied solo albums, from progressive rock to power pop to acoustic to orchestral, and just about everything in between. Possibly the next Frank Zappa. http://www.keneally.com

He's a guitarist that plays percussive style, ala Stanley Jordan, on an acoustic guitar. It's sorta reminiscent of Steve Reich or Philip Glass
