20. "Ms. Hilton has decided that she will wait until she is finished with her slow march to death".
Yeah, I'm real curious to see when that useful-only-as-a-tea-bagging-recipient actually makes it to Africa for her "humanitarian cause".

5. Robert Goulet was a rising Broadway star in the early '60s...
...but, by the later part of that decade, he'd deteriorated into a lounge-singing caricature of himself.

He did a series of "made for TV" versions of stage musicals for ABC around '67-'68, and he was awful -- no matter whether he was doing Brigadoon or Carousel, he performed every song in a pseudo-Sinatra "ring-a-ding-ding" nightclub style. It was hideous -- the Broadway musical equivalent of Spinal Tap.

I never paid any attention to "Robert Goulash" beyond that point.

6. Thanks for ruining my evening
:-(

Robert Goulet was one of my first crushes when I was a little 12-year-old. (Yeah, I'm WAY over 12 now.)

8. My wife had never heard of him
I told her Robert Goulet died and she said, "Who's he?"
"Camelot," I sang.
"Camel-what?" she asked.
"Camelot. You know. Back in the sixties. How about 'Man of La Mancha'? "To Dream the Impossible Dream?"
"Doesn't ring a bell," she said.
"Maybe you saw him in a movie. He played a bad guy in one of the 'Naked Gun' movies," I informed her.
"Nope," she said. "I don't remember him".
"Well, anyway," I said, "he will be missed."
"Obviously," she replied. "I completely missed him when he was alive, so I'm sure I'll have no trouble missing him in death."

13. What's wrong with Bon Jovi?
The guy can write songs, is an amazing performer, and seems like a good guy. Don't put this guy in the same category as that lump of shit Britney Spears.

17. What's wrong? The songs he writes are shit, he's a boring cliche fuckwit performer.
Though yes he does seem like a good guy, if a bit of a poseur. Certainly a good liberal, except for the 'having integrity in art' part.

35. Fucking music snobs...
I'm not a Bon Jovi fan -- I don't own any of his albums. But it seems to me that if the guy writes his own songs, puts on a good show for his fans, and is a pretty good guy (and liberal), there is no way in hell he should be lumped with that talentless twit Britney.

24. On A Clear Day...my favorite song as sung by him

On a clear day

Rise and look around you

And you'll see who you are

On a clear day

How it will astound you

That the glow of your being

Outshines every star

You'll feel part of every mountain, sea and shore

You can hear

From far and near

A word you've never, never heard before...

And on a clear day...On a clear day...

You can see forever...

And ever...

And ever...

And ever more...

Robert Goulet...you were a very real shining star

30. THAT'S SORT OF WHAT I SAID
when John lennon was killed... Only my comparison was -- John Lennon got shot but fucking Robert Goulet is once again unscathed.

Now... I am so sorry that Goulet died - I really like(d) him. I figured out that he had a sense of humor about himself and then... when he did the Emerald Nut commercial.. Well, I loved him all over again....
