So when did you stop watching the World Series?
For me it was after game 2. I bet the Red Sox will win the next 4 or 5 series.

13. I think that was it for me, too.
I won't really be interested in the Series again unless the Pirates are playing, so that's a big 'never'.

6. I thought the World Series was very interesting this year
:hide:

For some strange reason, fans of the heavy favorite and eventual winner seemed angriest.

31. It's sad, but all in their (oops, Their) heads
If They read my statements that the Red Sox are the most dominating team in baseball as "minimizing achievements," that's really on Them. Maybe They like to feel like They are the scrappy underdogs, so if you say Their team is the heavy favorite They feel like you've insulted Them. I dunno. Seems weird and backwards to me, but whatever, right.

We're all enjoying ourselves, as I've been reminded many times! :-)

28. 1997.
For obvious reasons.

All that pitching and hitting. All star in every position.

I mean, how the shit could they not beat a goddamned four-year-old expansion team?

Because they're Cleveland, that's why.

Heartbreaking losses are what they do.

And the earth would cave in if God Forbid they won a championship in anything.

The last time our city won a title in ANYthing was 1964. Only two three-sport cities come closer (Seattle in 1979 and Philadelphia in 1983).

The last time the Indians won a Series is 1948.

If Cleveland ever goes back, they most likely won't be facing a well-paid hot stove team like the Rockies. They'll face an all-star-laden team, who they'll lose to.

Because that's just what Cleveland does.

Championships are meant for other cities. Not ours.

34. What does one have to do in order for it to count as 'starting'
in the first place?

I'm just not a baseball fan, but I did check out the score a few times during the first game. After it got ridiculous I stopped checking, and haven't cared to check again since. So... dunno if I ever even started really.

It was pretty clear the Sox were going to win the game and the series, so that was it.
