Shingles without the pain?
Edited on Thu Oct-18-07 02:02 PM by jasonc
Is that possible? I have been a bit suspicious of the diagnoses because I did not have the pain as described by others that have had shingles, that and I am only 31.

So is it possible for two doctors to misdiagnose something else as shingles?

1. My other half would be envious of you....
He was diagnosed about a month ago. The rash and blisters have almost gone, but he's still in a fair amount of pain. Perhaps age plays a factor, as he's 62.

2. Maybe
I was considering the fact that I was so medicated that maybe the pain could not get through. Now I have a scar and thats all. Not a lick of pain, which makes me wonder if I was misdiagnosed and something else is going on.

4. Yes
it's possible.

I'm recovering from a bout now. It was very uncomfortable and itchy, but the pain wasn't terribly bad. Just the occasional "jolt" along a nerve. But other people get severe pain that lasts for weeks.

5. Its like Chicken Pox (same virus after all:)
Some people have a horrendous rash and fever and get really sick (I was watching a story about a football player who went deaf from CHicken Pox) and some (like me) are lucky and its just a very very itchy rash with no other symptoms.
Count yourself lucky.....:)
