I was doing some sewing, and got my left index finger caught by where the needle goes up and down. The impact cracked my fingernail near the base of the nail bed. It really hurts.

1. Dayum. I hope the paramedics managed to get to you in time.
Actually, I know that HAD to hurt like a mofo. I have all sympathy for you, and hope it heals rapidly.

alas, a left index fingernail (especially to someone who is right handed) is not a life threatening injury, no matter HOW much it hurts.

That sounds like something I'd do to myself. I can imagine how it must hurt!

I have some skin stuck to one of my fingers with some nail glue -- It's just extra skin now... I can send it to you as a friendly graft. I am muy generoso.

9. I could kiss it to make it better
if I had a stepladder. :) About a year and a half ago I was stapling together something I wrote and I stapled my thumb. Not just a little bit either, I just freaking stapled right into the middle of my thumb. I don't even know if it's possible to be that stupid, but somehow I did it.

13. I Used My Brother' Finger Instead
Wanted to see if the needle would go through it. It did. I was four, he was two. He still brings it up (though I am sure he really doesn't remember it and only knows the story from my parents).

17. Was it one of those really big ones that are powere with a
gas engine? You're supposed to use two hands when you lift those things, but I always carry it one-handed, you know, like a man. :P
