With drinking, it's all about intent.

And while Basil Hayden is very good....

For my money, the best tasting bourbon is Jim Beam Black. I had a nice little bourbon collection going at one time, but the only ones I really enjoy enough to always keep around are JBB and Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

18. Once upon a time, I was a tequila man
Then one night at a beach party I was knocking back a bottle of Mescal, and I drank the worm. I woke up on the beach the next morning in the dunes, at least a mile from where I had been the night before, all alone, and I had to hitchhike back to town. Since then I can't touch the stuff.

They don't call it To Kill You for nothing!

21. I drink watered red wine.
Just like in Europe. It keeps you from getting shit-faced yet allows you to enjoy the wine. I do drink a few sips straight to savor the taste before I water it down. And sometimes I drink it straight and stop after a glass.

27. Serious drinking? Do you mean
drinking in order to get wasted, or drinking at a "serious" event?

The former (for me) would be Bacardi 151 rum and Diet Coke. The latter would likely be some fruity concoction involving coconut rum, OJ, pineapple juice, banana liqueor, and a dash of grenadine. :hi:

28. "Serious" in that the focus of the activity is the drink you have in your hand
You're not just having a beer with dinner or out shmoozing with your coworkers. You're there, at that moment, to enjoy and appreciate the contents of your glass. What do you choose?

33. Serious drinking..

In 2006, Crown Royal XR (extra rare) was introduced in the US by allocation and the Canadian market (initially, only in Ontario and Alberta). This limited-release special blend of Crown Royal is sold in numbered bottles, and is made from the last batch of whiskey distilled at the Waterloo distillery. After mothballing in 1992, the Waterloo distillery burned down in 1993, with only a small amount of whisky being left behind. As a point of comparison, in February 2007, a 750 mL (commonly called a fifth in the USA) bottle of Crown Royal could typically be purchased in the United States for around .....

Down to 2 unopened bottles out of a 'case' of 6.

51. Usually a cheap red wine (boxed)
If I am pushing for a good buzz or any red wine gets me over my tolerance level pretty easy.

I can usually control myself on the beers. Microbrews because they are so good, but also the cheap stuff (e.g. Miller Lite) because they are so bad to drink enough to get sick.
