Three old slides, scanned. {Dial up warning}
These are from 1952, taken by my father, from the large collection
my sister recently scanned.

1. My dear Ptah!
Oh, sweetie, sorry I didn't see these sooner!

And they are wonderful...

The last one especially grabs me...

It has such an otherworldly haunted look to it...

Really beautiful!

Thank you...

2. I have thousands of slides taken by my grandfather and father,
from the late 1940s through the 1960s, and they are all still in great condition - the colors are just as bright as if they were taken yesterday. Kodachrome was a great film from day it was first sold. Most of the ones taken by my grandfather show Rocky Mountain National Park in the 1950s and most of the ones my father took show Korea during the Korean conflict. Plus tons of family photos. I should get a scanner and scan them in. Thanks for posting yours.

3. My sister is due all the praise for scanning the 2000 slides taken by our father.
You are correct about Kodachrome.

Even if you only scan 100, you will be happy.

7. I bought a 250 gig backup disc for all of them. I'll meed it.
My sister scanned them at the highest resolution available.

4000 dpi

5905 x 4032

69,959 KB

It will take a while, but they will all be preserved.

:hi:

6. There are no strip-malls and luxury condos in that first pic.
Man, that's just WRONG! B-) ;-)

8. And here we are 55 years later, and still no strip malls.
Who would have thought large populations would avoid
the Montana prairie.

9. Who said anything about large populations? I just think the corporations
can't stand to see beautiful, open, undeveloped land anywhere. B-)

12. Correct, Montana is where I was born and raised.
I'm a winter wimp, so I'll stay here in Arizona.
