When buying jeans, Regular rise, Long rise.
I usually wear Wrangler Boot cut, but I want to wear a little more relaxed fitting jean. They list them available in regular rise and long rise, and am not sure what that means. I know Long rise adds 5 bucks to the price of the jeans.
Can you clue me in?
Is that how it fits on your behind? I would assume so but you know what happens when you assume.

1. The rise is the distance from the crotch to the waist.

2. Here you go...
Determining a Pant's Rise

To measure the rise
1) measure the outseam length (from the top of the belt to the pant bottom)
2) measure the inseam length (crotch to pant bottom along inside seam)
3) and then deduct one from the other.

The result is the rise.
A regular rise is usually about 11 1/2 inches.

9. Well I am in a chair so I have to kind of guesstimate rise.
I know my inseam is 36" so I figure that regular rise should be fine.

I worked in a Wrangler outlet store back in the day, and I can't tell you how many times guys tried to get me to measure their inseam!

17. Well, I feel for you.
I used to buy mine from Mr. Boot's in San Angelo, TX. At one time they were one of the largest Wrangler dealers in Texas. I don't know about now.

15. My friend came up with an idea a couple days ago...
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 06:29 PM by primate1
Jeans with such a large rise that they could be worn by rappers so that they sit at the waist, but still look like they're actually at mid-thigh. (I really don't know how they do it, but I constantly see dudes walking around with their jeans pockets below their knees, thus the waist has to be between the middle of the thigh and the knee, haha. That can't be comfortable.
