I've discovered why Iggy Pop has been stuck in my head for days!
"The Passenger" has been such a pervasive earworm in my head lately that I've been feeling compelled to listen to Iggy Pop records.

I've just discovered why.

It's being used in a TV ad for Vera Wang's Simply Very line at Kohl's.

I haven't seen 360 since they moved him to the later slot.

When you spot someone you approve of using music from 1970s CBGB's artists & other original punks, in mainstream media, let me know, k? I'm sure I can find a reason or two why they're either bores, or hacks trying to promote themselves using the touchstones of someone else's youth culture.

2. Several of his songs have been used in commercials
At one point, there were two different ads using two different Iggy songs. I was somewhat surprised to hear Iggy songs in commercials.

3. The absolute weirdest was when they used "Search And Destroy" for shoes...
during the 96 Olympics.
Yessir, when I think about the human body as a well-tuned, disciplined machine...I immediately think of Iggy and the Stooges

10. He spends his offstage time with those elastic body braces wrapped...
around much of his body. He is in chronic pain from all of the physical abuse to which he has subjected his body.

18. I started hearing him on our local underground
station in the late '60's when I was in middle school. The Stooges were a local band at that time. I was immediately a fan, especially because they were such an antidote to the folk-rock sound.

Punk didn't sound that "new" to me when it arrived, but it felt like home.

7. Well, there is that.
:D

I just didn't know why the song randomly popped into my head so often lately when I hadn't listened to it for quite some time.
