Who else decorates for Halloween?
Halloween is the only holiday I really celebrate. My SO and I have so much fun decorating our long driveway. It runs through a wooded area and we do a haunted forest thing every year, changing it up a bit to keep it interesting.

Last year, we had a ghoul poker game. We set up a table and a bunch of bottles with "poison" labels and that sort of thing, sat our more-than-life-size ghouls up with cards in their hands and poker chips all over the table. We had a skeleton passed out under a tree with an empty bottle of champagne (its a tradition to drink a bottle of champagne while we decorate).

We also have a cemetery that we set up and a bunch of giant spiders and bats. The great part is we get NO trick-or-treaters - you can't even see our stuff from the road. We do it all for ourselves and the few other people who share our drive. But its a blast.

This year we're doing a ghoul cookout. We're going to set up a grill with severed human limbs on it and put the ghouls around it drinking beer and wearing chef's hats and "Kiss the Cook" aprons.

1. We do decorate for Halloween!
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 12:14 PM by Liberalynn
We have a vampire stuffed figure that we hang on the door every year. I also just finished coloring/painting in some wooden Halloween ornaments my sister wants to use as invitations to her small Halloween parties, one for just our family and then one for her two best friends at work and their kids.

I also have a cermaic cat wrapped around a pumpkin that lights up, that my Mom made for me years ago. We also get those pumpkin carving kits and do one of those designs in a real pumpkin every year, we did skip last year.

We usually also put up a Halloween tree. We also don't get trick or treaters but you can see ours from the road and it is fun for us too.

There's one family in town that goes all out for Halloween and Christmas and its fun to check out their displays every year.

Yours sounds cool!

2. I used to, but some of my decorations were ripped off a few years
ago. Now we just do pumpkins.

5. That's so cool.
 Sounds like you guys have A LOT of fun,no tricker or treaters necessary.

I hardly get any either but I found these great ceramic pumpkins at a second hand store,19 of them! They're rather large and all carved. The tops come off and I put candles in them and put them along the drive.

And then I always like carving a real pumpkin(or 3 or 5) and setting them on the porch as well.Oh and LOTS o' candy(lot's o' trick or treaters not necessary).Reeses cups to be exact,in a HUGE bowl on the foyer table. That's my favorite "decoration". :P

6. My Absolute Favorite Holiday...
I use to decorate every year, but not so much the last few. I need to, though. I've got grandchildren that would love it.

12. We did "serious" for a few years
Which was definitely fun - scary and spooky and stuff. Last year, we did "humorous" and it was even more fun.

There are four other tenants here in cabins and our landlords so they all enjoy it and they bring friends over to see. And the people across the road discovered it last year and brought over some decorations to add to it.

We're sort of an underground success. :P

8. I used to make the effort...
...to kill a few people and drap their dismembered remains around the house and garden, but I've become somewhat lazy in recent years. All that blood takes forever to mop up.

This year, I might dig up a few newly-buried corpses and dress them as pirates or hang them from a tree or something. Honestly, it's so hard to keep coming up with fresh ideas year after year.

9. No, but I hand out body parts.
There's a gummy candy that looks like ears, noses, lips, teeth, et cetera.
One year a boy about age 6 went running back down my driveway yelling "Mom! Mom! I got an eyeball!"

I don't know what his mother was thinking.

10. We do. Lights, graveyard, 9 foot tall Frankenstein on the roof,
Blow up spider on the porch. Fog machine. Spooky music, but not too spooky.

Love. Love. Love Halloween. Have been buying Halloween crap at the 75% off sale at Target for years.

11. It's the day I really decorate for
My special day :loveya:
I have a flat spider web that clings to the screen door (I stole it from Blockbuster when Spiderman was the new release) and a big metal spider that I hang in front of it, it looks reeaallly coool. And I have a bat that looks real that I bought at a Rennie Fest. And I'll have some orange lights and some moss and some big eyeball candles lit on Halloween night.
We're in a cul-de-sac so we don't get much traffic but my decorations and the big bags of candy I give out have gotten more kids to come out of the way to get some :headbang:

16. Do you know who this actor is.
Hard to believe that this is the same actor that play on the Man From UNCLE.

14. oh we do too. Varies according to how much time I have but
we love to do it.

I have some foam pumkin sets that have lights inside and some Halloween themed things for candles. Sometimes we get all crazy with spiderweb and fill in the space between our big tree and our bay window with massive fake spiderweb. Orange lights on the hedges of course.

The biggest fans of Halloween I know are Fudge Stripe Cookays and Reprehensor, they really do it up ...Wisconsin ain't gonna know what hit 'em when they start putting out their Halloween stuff.

Next week I am taking out the boxes with the lights first.

Then we take out the other boxes, takes a few weeks to get everything ready.

I love this time of year.
