Boys killing cockroaches cause home to burn down

Two boys burned down their grandparents' home and displaced the family while setting fire to cockroaches inside the house, a city spokeswoman said Sunday.

The boys, ages 8 and 10, were sleeping over at the house in the 800 block of Northwest 17th Terrace Saturday when they began burning the cockroaches, using rubbing alcohol and a lighter, city spokeswoman Sandra King said.

The extermination experiment went awry when the boys' bed caught on fire. Flames engulfed the bedroom.

5. Well the house didn't burn down, but

my SIL's SIL set off at least 6 bug bombs at the same time in their home 2 weeks ago and there so much smoke/haze it set off their smoke detectors which are set to an alarm system and the fire department came. Idiot in-law relations to my SIL had to replace their front door because the FD kicked it in.

Ah the joys of rural Georgia...
