Of course, I might not answer, but you never know if you don't ask! And yes, before I get a hundred of you asking about the same thing, NightTrain and I are scheduled to meet in PA (halfway between our respective states) the weekend of March 19, 20, 21, and 22!

And why?

5. Actually, I only have a B.A., so I don't
really have a "specialty" academically speaking, but I'm pretty much an expert on Western (the American West) history, and I like Russian and American history as well.

Kent State University (yes, THAT Kent State, lol, I was a member of the student-run May 4 Task Force), with a minor in sociology.

3. If you had to live in one of the following periods/places in history which
would you choose and why?
American west in the 19th century
England in the 16th century
Italy in the 18th century

8. I'd have to say American West
in the 19th century, I know the most about that time, and it would be far better to be a woman then than in the other two times! Although it still would have sucked being a woman then, there was much more freedom and leeway for women in the 19th Century American West, especially if they were single.

she gets it right and it's always good to see myths being dispelled and disproved.

Love your sig line and picture, btw, my parents and I have that picture on our wall at home. I especially like studying Sioux history and culture, we vacation in the Black Hills of South Dakota and I go to the Crazy Horse Memorial every year. The hell with Rushmore, it's like indoctrination city there! Have you read a book that came out last year, btw, Rushmore: An Icon Reconsidered? It talked about how hypocritical it was for Rushmore to have been put where it was, considering how the Black Hills had been forcibly taken from the Sioux and how badly they were and are still being treated, and considering how all the presidents put on the mountain were horrible as far as treatment of the native Americans.

10. He's doing much better, he actually got on the
honor roll this grading period. He still has some problems, but he's learning how to better express himself, and his speech therapist is working with him on "debating and discussing vs. ranting", since he would rant and not really discuss.

I kept up with you threads on you son because my son had problems with teachers, too. After 5 years of hell we finally found a solution, but it took involving the school system's superintendent.

Good for your son!!

few days, but it is getting easier, especially considering how much he was suffering. Chris is still upset, so I'm focusing on trying to make him feel better. The dog and cat that had "adopted" him have finally stopped looking for him, so that makes it easier too!
