Just wanted to share...
Got the contract for my next novel today. That's a load off my mind, let me tell you. I submitted it nearly six months ago and hadn't heard anything. I finally wrote the publisher and I think she made a few inquiries, because I heard from my editor not two days later. I had to do a little editing before final acceptance--had a major info dump at the beginning of the book that really wasn't necessary. I eliminated it, fixed a couple of other issues, and voila!

I should be getting my copies of the first book with this publisher in the mail tomorrow or Saturday. I can't wait!

Nothing like holding your own book in your hand for a sense of validation.

:)

4. It's "Death of Heroes"
and it's about a world where war between super powered people and ordinary humans decimated the planet. A group that exists between several different versions of Earth gets involved, travels back in time, and works to prevent the war from ever happening discovering, in the process, that what's really behind it is a group of aliens who are trying to soften up the world for invasion.

It's the second in my Infinity:Prime series. I'm currently working on book 3 right now.

7. Nifty. I dabbled with a superhero universe when I was younger
I was never much of a comic geek, but I was a geek in general. :)

In my universe the people with super-powers had a tendancy to crop up all at once in one generation, then go away for a few hundred years. (I also used that to explain some mythological stories too... many of the ancient egyptian gods were super-powered humans. There was also a storyline about a giant pyramid-shaped mechanical sentient being visiting earth right around then, but I'm digressing.) Somehow there was a big convergence of things happening right around now though, and not only was there a generation of super-powered people that started in the late 1900s(most born in the 70s and 80s), but then there was a second generation after that(mostly the children of pre-existing super-powered people, but a lot of new blood too). Combine that with an huge migration of alien ships that just HAPPENED to start passing by Earth in the 1900s(Roswell crash explained :) ), plus our current technology jump... it gets a bit messy.

But to keep from destroying the world, eventually some of the aliens just offered to give a few ships to the super-powered people and let them colonize their own planet, far away from earth.

Of course, a few hundred years later the two civilizations meet again and clash... but that's a whole different story arc, and in my sci-fi setting rather than my superhero one. :)

Man, I really should get back into that universe. I haven't written anything in far too long.

2. Congrats!
That must be an incredible feeling to not only finish a book but to have it published.

Care to share title with us? Maybe a brief synopsis?
