Return of the King gets ONLY 11 Nominations? I count at least 14!

How could it not get cinematography? And where are the acting nods for Ian, Sean and Viggo???????

1. I thought for sure Serkis would get a nod, at least

But I can't believe no one got any best actor or supporting actor nominations. Not that many of them deserve it (I don't think Viggo deserves one), but Serkis and Ian and Frodo and Sam, maybe even Christopher Lee, definitely should have had some sort of nod.

I'd love to give one to Blanchet, but then she didn't really show up much, did she? I thought she was absolutely wonderful when she was on, though. :-)

I think the Oscars need a new category - best ensemble. And this crew should get the first award. I think it would work, because many movies do really have ensemble casts that have to work well together, and while maybe no one person's performance is Oscar-worthy, the acting and presence of the ensemble itself IS Oscar-worthy.

2. The SAG awards has the best cast award for a motion picture...

LOTR is up for it, and I can't remember the others--it's sure to win that one.
