Man am I relieved
I went for a physical about a month ago and they told me that I had a trace of blood in my urine. The doctor asked me if I had any pain and I said no. She then told me that blood in the urine without any pain is a possible symptom of bladder cancer. After I just about fainted she told me that she didn't think that was the case because I am young and I was drinking a lot of pop which could have also been the problem. She was concerned enough, however, that she told me to get it checked out again in a month. Somebody also told me the other day that they had a trace of blood in their urine at one time and it turned out to be kidney cancer.

I did more reading about bladder and kidney cancer than a med student. It turned out that I didn't have any of the other symptoms of those diseases, but I was still concerned.

So a month rolled by and I went to my family doctor to get checked out yesterday. I have been drinking nothing but water for the last month. Not even a little beer on the weekends which I had gotten into the habit of doing. The test said that I still had a trace of blood in my urine, albeit a very, very slight trace. The doctor looked at a sample of my urine under a microscope and found no red blood cells. She did find a few white blood cells which she told me was indicative that I had an infection or was probably getting over one because there were so few of them.

I'm going to keep drinking nothing but water, though. I feel better since I've been doing that. And I feel even better that I'm not in the hospital right now preparing to have my bladder or a kidney removed.

Drink alot of water, that always helps and flushes the body. When I was in my decade-plus Bukowski phase I always drank water all day and beer all night (mostly Mickey's Malt Liquor), thinking that at the very least I could speed the "you don't drink beer, you rent it" rule. It limited the damage I was doing to myself and probably saved me a trip or two to the hospital in the process.

It's all about balance in the end. You're a seeker, so you'll know when you get it.

And you'll live a long, long time because of it:)

4. Droopy - that is great news.
MrMB has discovered more than a trace of blood in his urine recently and will be undergoing some more invasive testing tomorrow. I will share your story of well-being with him to hopefully ease his fears.

I am very happy for you and am soooo glad that you are feeling great!

5. I always have blood in my urine
nothing that can be seen, but it's there. And I've been tested for everything under the sun... kidneys, bladder... all of it. There just isn't any explanation.

And I think I have a brother and a sister with the same story.
