I really don't see what the problem is about Giada.

She is obviously good looking. (but needs to eat more of her food, she is too thin) She has great hair and skin tone. The thing I don't like is when they put too much makeup on her. She looks kind of like euro-trash at the intro segments when she sits on the couch with all that makeup on and explains what she is cooking for the episode. Then they cut to her in the kitchen and she is just glowing with warmth and feminine beauty. (nothing more sexy IMO than a woman cooking something delicious)

She has a nice persona too. Her voice is really nice and soothing. She actually is a real chef and did attend Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and graduated. (Mario Batali dropped out so i hear)

Her recipes are pretty good too.
