8. I thought I remembered loving it too.
However, now I know very firmly that I do not.

3. The whole movie sucked. All the songs, too.
Except for "Hushabye Mountain", cause, really, how can you hate Dick Van Dyke?

4. Isn't that the one with a charactor named Truly Scrumptious?
If it is, I didn't care for it.

5. Yep.
Ian Fleming has always had a thing for curiously named women.

7. I don't know if I can think of a movie that departed so utterly from the book.
In the book the curious name for the woman was Mrs. Potts. And there was a car in it. Other than that there are very few similarities. Oh, and it includes a recipe for fudge.

9. Oh, really?
I just assumed, since it was Ian Fleming, and since he's the man behind Pussy Galore....

10. Roald Dahl worked on the screenplay
Albert "Cubby" Broccoli, of James Bond film fame, produced it. I guess he owned the rights to this work as well. In the book, the family gets mixed up with some gangsters and I best remember a scary scene in a cave on the English Channel. I read it a long, long time ago--before the movie came out!
