My vet's tech gave my dog 5x her normal dose of theophylline.

Poor thing is messed up but stable. And she was doing so well the day before (kidney problems improving dramatically. ) Besides throwing up once, an accelerated heartbeat -- 180 bpm and appearing totally out of it, she seems okay and should pull through. I'll know in 18 hours for sure. Seems they misread the instructions. Pet lovers, take heed, a vet is only as good as its techs, especially during critical care.

2. Thanks for the good wishes. It has been 24 hours since the hot load. They tell me she is stable.

And resting. I think she is past the critical window. I have been looking up medical stuff all night online to determine fatal toxicity levels. Its interesting stuff. Theophylline poisoning is similar to chocolate poisoning in dogs only I think the pharmaceutical theophylline is way stronger than the "theobromine" in the chocolate (though there is some theophylline in chocolate) Its confusing.
