Freepers on why three princesses from the Quatar royal family were not allowed to sit
next to unrelated men on a plane and were therefore eventually told to leave:

"Everyone has MISSED the real reason behind the Arab male’s objection to their women sitting next to Western men..

1. The “princesses” would discover that real men don’t smell like camel shit.

2. The “princesses” might observe that Western men are endowed with a “package” that puts their cowardly “men” to shame.

3. The “princesses” would discover that males can engage women in conversation that goes beyond treating them like cattle.

4. The “princesses” would get a close up and personal confirmation that not all men are short, fat, ugly, big nosed and wear beards soiled by mucus and insects."

Story on the princesses: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=471352&in_page_id=1811

I won't link to FR because I don't want anybody to get sick. Those people are unbelievable.

1. The freepers are not terribly bright. But we already knew that.
On the other hand, the princesses should've had their own jet.

6. That was mentioned
by somebody who didn't feel the need to refer to the smell of camel shit.

2. interesting...
freepers i guess are filled with the delusion that the world is all about them... see Writer's post on narcissistic personality disorder, perhaps that explains it.

13. But there's one big difference...
There's no way for them to understand us, because we're more evolutionarily advanced.

12. Especially since the biggest "package"
I ever saw was on a Middle Eastern man. There must have been 30 people in the room to attest to that. We dared him, he showed us and put everyone else in the room to shame.

14. "We See Things Differently"
a short story by Bruce Sterling.

an excerpt:

"I'm Plisetskaya," she said, fluffing her yellow hair. "See? No veil." It was the old story of the so-called "liberated" Western woman. They call the simple, modest clothing of Islam "bondage" -- while they spend countless hours, and millions of dollars, painting themselves. They grow their nails like talons, cram their feet into high heels, strap their breasts and hips into spandex. All for the sake of male lust."

*******

So who are the oppressed, really?

The rest of the story is pretty interesting, too. Written pre 9/11 (1989) it's written from an Islamic perspective about a futuristic run-down America.

I had to email my professor for the name of it. I couldn't remember and I've been wracking my brains for MONTHS (and since I moved I can't find my copy!). It was really driving me crazy!!!!!

At any rate, it's in an anthology The Year's Best Science Fiction: Eighth Annual Collection (1991) http://www.iblist.com/book.php?id=49007

16. thanks -
you might want to change your link to

http://www.revolutionsf.com/fiction/weseethings/01.html

note the 01 at the end -

the 04 starts at page 4 and people might not realize they're starting in the middle.

What do you think of it?
