What drives your spouse/lover/roommate/etc. CRAZY about you?
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 06:12 PM by Bertha Venation
I'm beginning to believe my slobbiness drives Mrs. V. crazy. I cook, I make a mess, I leave stuff all over the counter (crumbs, bits of cheese, paper towels, drips & splatters), I leave dishes in the sink, on the counter, etc. I LOATHE doing dishes. I do it sometimes but not nearly enough. She is gracious and cleans up without complaining. I thank her profusely every time. I try not to guilt myself to death, but that's hard, given my ancestry.

Today it was egg burritos w/ cubed leftover pork loin, onions and mushrooms, plus tomatoes, green taco sauce and pepper cheese. She didn't even eat any. I didn't clean up. I didn't even put away the leftovers. She's finishing up now, cleaning the counters & rinsing out the sink. I hang my head in shame.

I think I need to make a change.

What do you do (or not do) that drives your mate, spouse, lover, roommate(s), parents, or other live-in folks, crazy?

Edit: by god, I think I finally got the subject right. :eyes:

5. I really can't think of anything
You can ask Mr.WWW but I don't think he will be able to come up with any problems. :) Well, okay....maybe my high opinion of myself and my thinking that I can do no wrong? Nah....

7. I don't fold t-shirt or underwear.
We both do the laundry, but I don't fold t-shirts and underwear, whereas Paddy does. Drives him crazy...:P

8. T-shirts as in UNDERshirts?
If that's the case, I'm with you. Who cares if your undershirt is wrinkled?

I never folded panties & bras until Mrs. V. and I got together. I also changed the way I fold t-shirts (not undershirts). I also began hanging jeans in the closet. Makes sense to me now -- even the undies. Makes the drawers neater.

10. Yep, undershirts!
Paddy's rather a fanatic about them, for some reason. If we're going out to dinner or a party, he'll iron it before he puts it on.

16. Sounds like my best friend, Dale.
He is the missing link -- he asked me once to put sunscreen on him at the beach; it was like putting lotion on Chewbacca -- but he is a very snappy dresser.

About dress & fashion, he always tells me, "Two tops for every bottom." (At least I think that's about dress & fashion....)

12. Doug says I need to be more assertive.
He thinks that I have the personality that allows people to take advantage of me...and it drives him crazy.

How are you, Bertha? I sent an email...a LONG overdue one.

Terry

19. My insomnia and my DU time
Other that that, I'm the perfect wife, probably too good for him given certain things. I look young enough to still get carded at times at 30-something (even after 4 children), I have a good general knowledge base, politically progressive, open-minded, warm and understanding, I can cook well when I want to, spawn geniuses, I'm good with money, reasonably tidy without being anal about it, and I bang like a bunny. Oh, and I'm humble, yes, very humble.

(That being said, I used to be very down on myself and overly self-critical. I'm not an ego-driven person at all. I just feel better than I used to.)

22. I confess! I'm a slobby hypocrite!
Sometimes, I'm really finicky with the way things are arranged. However, I really hate to clean. If it weren't for lysol and dishwashers, my house would look like a pigsty.
