semi-obscure Real Player Playlist question
Do any techies know about Real Player (using version 10) .rmp playlists? Specifically, I'm looking for a way to make the pathnames non-absolute, relative.

When I open the .rmp file, it looks very much like HTML. For each track in the playlist (talking about .rm video files, btw), I see a full path: c:\program files\yadayada\file1.rm.

I'm wanting to put these files on CD's, which on my PC happens to be Drive E:\. I'd like to give the CD's to family/friends, who probably have CD's at drive letter d:\. Moreover, they may transfer the files to hard drive, and they'd then have some other path.

I've tried placing the .rmp file in the same folder as the .rm files, and edit out all of the path stuff, just leaving the filename (file1.rm). This doesn't work.

Does anyone happen to know how to edit these things so that the path is relative, not absolute. Alternately, is there a 3'rd party package that does a better job with playlists?

Thanks!
