Children are not for the frugal

Number one son last week broke the dryer on Friday, swerved to avoid a deer last Saturday and totaled our second (very gas friendly) car, (he escaped unharmed, THANK GOD!) and yesterday ran over my handmade tufa birdbath. That bird bath was the only thing I ever made that I was truly not embarrassed to display in public. Sigh…At this point, we are down to one car for two adults and two teenagers, which is fine and drying the clothes out on the line. I do not have the time, energy or money to replace the car or dryer. And I’m not mad about the car or the dryer, and I am thankful Number One son wasn’t hurt. But I did dearly love that bird bath….Sigh….

Today signed two college loan promissory notes totaling $38,000 for Number one son and his sister for one year of college. Sigh....

I just dropped TeenMidlo's car (actually the third family car, which we purchased because she can't drive her dad's company car) off at the dealer and it will be over $600 just for frickin' maintenance.

Gah.
